Emma Scully Gallery is thrilled to announce 'Contemporary Clay: Seven new voices in American ceramics', an exhibition featuring the works of seven talented artists working in sculptural ceramics. With their distinct viewpoints and innovative approaches, these artists challenge conventional norms while exploring the intricate interplay of art, craftsmanship, and design.

Opening at Emma Scully Gallery on July 19th, 'Contemporary Clay' aims to challenge modernist notions of ceramics as a medium for merely functional objects. Through their sculptural creations, the participating artists delve into an exploration of form, texture, color, and concept.

The exhibition will unveil a collection of new sculptural ceramic works that highlight the diverse approaches and techniques employed by the seven featured artists: Ebitenyefa Baralaye, Simone Bodmer-Turner, Ivana Brenner, Sean Gerstley, Jaye Kim, Jenny Min, and Somsack Sikhounmuong. From delicate and ethereal to bold and provocative, each work represents a distinct voice within the contemporary ceramic art world.

An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 19th from 6 to 8 PM at Emma Scully Gallery, 16 East 79th Street, Suite 11, New York, NY 10075.
